Nancy Otero

Director of Learning at Make and Founder-CEO of Kitco

Nancy’s a laser cutter and AI fan, her biggest passion is human learning. Nancy is a firm believer that creating real projects is a fundamental piece of learning, a piece that gives tangible form to a legacy of human ideas while adding personal meaning to the mix. For her, project-based learning is for everyone, since kindergarten.  

Nancy was the Founding Director of Learning Design at Portfolio School. She was the Director of Professional Development at the Beam Center in NYC, where she created a program that served more than one hundred teachers and thousands of students. She co-founded FAB! a non-profit in Mexico that works with underserved communities for 5 years. Nancy was a software engineer in her previous life and has been a speaker at several educational conferences. She was an OpenAI fellow, collaborator at the Transformative Learning Technology Lab, and has a Master in Learning, Design and Technology from Stanford University.
